Established in Cairns in 1986, MGF is a locally owned Consulting Engineering firm, specialising in Mechanical, Electrical, Acoustic and ESD Engineering. The firm has been directly responsible for many of the regions most significant projects and with a permanent staff of 28 and offices in both Cairns and Townsville, MGF is one of the largest specialist Mechanical & Electrical Engineering firms in North Queensland.
In October 1999, MGF established the (NQ) entity, and today provides consulting engineering services to in excess of $500 Million worth of construction projects primarily throughout the Cairns and Townsville regions annually. MGF recognize that this success has come about through maintaining highly motivated professional staff and focusing on customer service to ensure an unrivalled quality of service to its clients.
The senior enginering team at MGF have a diverse background in areas including building services, speciality lighting, sportslighting, telecommunications, master planning, instrumentation & motor control, HVAC, process control, acoustics and ESD. The combination of these skills 'in house' makes MGF the ideal choice to provide unrivalled expertise and innovation to a wide range of projects within the building and construction industry as well as industrial applications.
The team at MGF enjoy a national reputation for innovation through thier pioneering involvemnt in the introduction of technologies to Australia including total enthalpy rotary heat exchangers, first employed at Smithfield Tavern in 1985 and stratified chilled water Thermal Energy Storage (TES) first introduced at Charles Darwin University in 1998. The 8.6ML TES system a Charles Darwin University remained the largest of its type in Australia until 2009 when a 12ML system, also by MGF, was completed at JCU's Douglas Campus in Townsville.
